Hot Yoga And Infrared Heating

Posted on 20th Oct 2013 @ 2:15 PM

The Infrastrip, Infrared heating system is an ideal solution for yoga centres running traditional and hot yoga classes.

To date we have supplied yoga centres in France, Ireland and the UK to help them provide a controllable and healthy heat for their students.

Why The InfraStrip

Traditional convector heaters, heat the air and circulate it around the room, spreading pollutants, dust, pollen and germs. They produce an uneven heat and a lot of them are noisy.

The infrastrip heats the objects and peopl in it not the air which makes them the perfect solution for hot yoga sessions at their centres and studios.

Infrared heat technology has been used in heat lamps for many years in sports injury clinics as well as hospitals where they are used to provide a healthy and hygenic heat in baby incubators. The very same technology is used to heat the NASA space station and the shuttles.

Hot Yoga

Hot Yoga classes made popular by Bikram Yoga have seen rapid growth in the Uk and the USA.

As the name implies Hot yoga is carried out in a room or 'chamber', which is heated up to 105°F or 40.6°C with a humidity of 40%. A series of postures and breathing exercises are then carried out. There are many associated benefits for this form of yoga.

These include:

  • Weight loss and weight control
  • Detoxification of the body
  • Increased flexibility
  • All over body conditioning
  • The lubrication of joints
  • Reduction in joint pain
  • Improved posture and overall fitness
  • Increased mental strength
  • A boost in the immune system

The intense sauna like heat in the chamber makes the workout very challenging both phsyically and mentally for most people but leads to an immense feeling of well being and achivement.

A hot yoga session ensures a full-body workout engaging every muscle, ligament and organ to increase both mental and phsyical strength. These sessions will not only increase the heart rate to ensure a full cardiovascular workout but offer increased flexibility through stretching exercises.

The idea of using heat is that warm muscles will stretch further without causing injury and the resulting sweating helps rid the body of toxins that builds up in your body. Infrared heat also casues the veins and capillaries to dilate, assisitng the flow of oxygen to be better distributed around the bodies organs and muscles. Sweating will also increase your metabolism helping you burn calories more efficiently, improving your immune system and helping you to stay healthy.
